Coastal Properties - Overview
Greenwich, like much of Fairfield County, is set along the Long Island Sound waterfront. Greenwich has 70 miles of shoreline and has several neighborhoods that offer a Long Island Sound waterfront style of living, these include: Belle Haven, Byram Shore, Harbor Point, Indian Harbor, Lowther Point, Lucas Point, Mead Point, Shorelands and Willowmere in addition to many other smaller neighborhood areas in southern Cos Cob, Riverside and Old Greenwich.
In 2009 there were 9 waterfront sales, five located in deep water
areas where there are slips to accommodate moderate to larger
vessels. The remaining four sales were in tidal waterfront areas
that would only accept water craft drawing no more than a foot
or two of water.
Most of the home sales on properties that can accommodate yachts that require deep water access are located in southern-most sections of Belle Haven, Byram Shore, Indian Harbor and Riverside.
